Types of Therapy I offer:
Satir Transformational Systemic Therapy (STST)
STST was developed by Virginia Satir. It is designed as an add-on therapy model compatible with most types of therapies. It is designed to improve relationships and communication and raise self esteem. It helps clients gain a better insight to their internal process, values, and deeper yearnings. It emphasizes personal growth, emotional healing, and positive change by transforming how individuals perceive and relate to themselves.
Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Therapy (AEDP)
AEDP was created by Psychologist Diana Fosha. It is a specific type of trauma therapy aimed to help clients heal through experiencing their emotions and body’s responses in the present. AEDP emphasizes the body's capacity for healing and growth, utilizing neuroscience and experiential techniques to help clients access and process difficult emotions.
Trauma Informed Therapy
Trauma Informed therapy prioritizes building safety, trust, and collaboration in the therapeutic relationship, creating a supportive environment where we can explore the root of and process traumatic experiences.
Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT)
EFT focuses on helping clients understand, accept, become more aware, and transform emotions. It posits that emotions are fundamental for our sense of self and psychological well being. Through EFT we focus on experiencing our emotions, not shutting them down or avoiding them.
Integration of Polyvagal Theory
Polyvagal Theory was developed by Stephen Porges. It explores how the autonomic nervous system influences our responses to stress, trauma, and social situations. It aims to help individuals regulate their emotions and improve their overall well-being by addressing the body's reactions to perceived threats and promoting a sense of safety and connection.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
CBT is an evidence based therapy that focuses on identifying and changing unhelpful thought patterns and behaviours. It helps clients gain positive coping strategies to manage negative thoughts and behaviours.
Dialectial Behavioural Therapy-Informed
DBT was created by Marsha Linehan. It's a structured therapy that teaches specific coping and relational skills to help individuals better understand and regulate their emotions, cope with stress, and improve their interactions with others. DBT focuses on creating a life worth living.
